PROPERTY INFORMATION / FACILITIES
Arrival is from 4pm and departure is before 4pm.
A selection of tents is available to hire and these can be booked in addition as part of the booking process. The cost is £5 per tent.
Small caravans may be parked on the hardstanding area on the main car park with limited electric hook up. Contact the office to discuss this.
Grass sledges can be booked in addition as part of the booking process. The 2027 cost is £25 per hour and includes the use of four sledges and helmets. Gloves should be worn but you need to bring these with you as they are not provided.
In the event of wet weather, the sledges should not be used.
Limited parking for cars is available near to Magpies Holiday House.
No, the property does not have WiFi.
No, the property does not have a landline. You are advised to bring a charged mobile phone with you.
Alcohol is not permitted at any Girlguiding Nottinghamshire property or grounds.
Smoking and vaping are prohibited and must be outside in designated areas only
Dogs are not allowed at any Girlguiding Nottinghamshire property or grounds, except for registered assistance dogs who are welcome in all our properties and grounds.
Elton Magpies Campsite does not have a TV licence or music licence.
Showing a film
Girlguiding groups only – Girlguiding do have a film licence with the Motion Picture Licensing Company but there are exclusions to this, in particular that Warner Brother and Sony are not covered. Prior to showing a film, check if it is covered by the licence by calling or emailing the MPLC. Call 01323 649647 or email ukinfo@mplc.com.
Non Girlguiding groups – are not covered by the Girlguiding licence and therefore appropriate licences to play music or watch films must be obtained by the hirer at their expense and a copy provided to the county office in advance of the visit.
BOOKING PROCESS
Booking is online via the relevant property page.
Our office is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and we will be in touch within 5 days of your booking to confirm your booking and receipt of your deposit payment.
We accept bookings from Girlguiding, Scouting, other uniformed youth organisations and schools.

DEPOSIT / PAYMENTS
All deposit payments need to be made online using a credit or debit card at the time of making a booking request. We accept all major credit and debit cards from Visa and Mastercard. We do not accept American Express.
We process all online payments securely via Stripe.
Balance payments can be made by bank transfer, details can be found on your booking confirmation email and in the property brochure.
Balance payments are due 60 days before your arrival.
Please note that all deposit payments must by made via credit or debit card at the point of booking.
However, you can pay your balance using one of the following payment methods:
- Online using a credit or debit card. The link to pay via this option will be sent with your booking confirmation email.

CANCELLATIONS / REFUNDS
Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
If you choose to cancel your booking with more than 60 days before it is due to start you will lose your full deposit.
If you cancel your booking 60 days or less before it is due to start you will lose your full deposit and balance.
Bookings cannot be changed except in extenuating circumstances. Contact the office to discuss this.
