We are seeking a dedicated volunteer to lead our thanks and recognition committee. This is a hugely rewarding position within the county, ensuring that the hard work and dedication of our members are recognised and celebrated at the highest level.
Key role responsibilities are: –
- Leadership – chairing committee meetings and overseeing the nomination process.
- Administration – managing the awards inbox, responding to queries, and ensuring nominations are processed smoothly.
- Regional collaboration – representing Nottinghamshire at a midlands regional level to help shape the future of Girlguiding awards and recognition.
- Event representation – attending the annual awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of our members.
This is a uniquely rewarding role. You will be at the heart of “what is best” about Girlguiding in Nottinghamshire. If you are organised, enjoy working as part of a team, and have a passion for celebrating others, this is the perfect role for you.
Zoe Dias, current committee chair says – “Being part of the awards process is a constant reminder of the incredible impact our volunteers have on young lives every single day.”
The committee meets at least twice a year, to discuss applications for awards submitted by our members and hosts the annual county awards afternoon tea event.
If you are interested in this role and would like to find out more, please contact Sandra Black, County Commissioner. The closing date for expressions of interest is Monday 30 November 2026.
