Girlguiding Nottinghamshire is delighted to inform you all that Clare Shinton, the Chief Commissioner Designate for Girlguiding Midlands, has appointed Jackie Brocklehurst, our Girlguiding Nottinghamshire County Commissioner, to the role of Deputy Chief Commissioner (Midlands). Clare and Jackie will take up their new roles from 1 August 2020. Jackie will finish her role as County Commissioner on the 31 July 2020.
Clare has appointed Kayleigh Hunt and Kirstie Pogson, our current Assistant County Commissioners to job share the role of County Commissioner for Nottinghamshire until May 2021.
Jackie said “I am delighted to have been asked to take up the role as Deputy Chief Commissioner for the Midlands. The role will bring new challenges and opportunities. Stepping down as your County Commissioner is something I’ve not done easily but I know you’re going to be in fantastic hands with Kayleigh and Kirstie. I would like to wish them both all the very best in their new roles. I will continue to be part of #TeamNotts as I am still a unit leader in Gedling.”
Kirstie said “Firstly I would like to congratulate Jackie upon her new and exciting role, Nottinghamshire’s loss is certainly Girlguiding Midland’s gain. I am pleased to have been given the opportunity to continue to work alongside Kayleigh in the role of County Commissioner. We face many challenges at the moment but I am sure with the support from you all we will be able to continue providing exciting opportunities and making many guiding memories.”
Kayleigh added “It’s been a real pleasure to work alongside Jackie for the last 4 years. I want to congratulate her and wish her well in her new role – I know she will be a fantastic addition to the Midlands team! I’m very proud to have been given this opportunity and excited to continue working alongside Kirstie as County Commissioner. I have been so inspired by the resilience of all our members at this time and with your support we know we can continue to provide the very best experiences for girls and leaders across Nottinghamshire. ”
Jackie has been a valued and committed County Commissioner for Nottinghamshire and she will be missed. Girlguiding Nottinghamshire would like to thank Jackie for everything she had done during her leadership time over the last 4 years. We are now looking forward to working with Kayleigh and Kirstie in their new roles and thank them as well for everything which they have done.
