Health & First Aid

I have been in Guiding for over ten years now and currently run a Brownie Unit in Burton Joyce as well as helping out at Guides and Rainbows when needed. I am a First Aid Trainer by profession and my week can go from running a 2.5 hour basic first aid course in a Village hall to training HSE Compliant First Aid at Work three day courses. I am married with two girls who also enjoy Girl Guiding. I have two boarder collies and enjoy horse riding and have just started training in Taekwondo (hopefully I won’t be needing any first aid for myself).

At least one guider in every unit must have an up to date 1st Response qualification. We provide training courses so that qualifications can be kept up to date; details of these can be found on the web site Diary (scroll down to find a date) and also in the County Adult Training Booklet. We may also be able to organise courses more locally if they are required.
