Leadership training is essential for adults and Young Leaders working towards the Leadership Qualification. It also provides ideas, support and a chance to network for all guiders, experienced or new, who are running unit meetings. Leadership trainings are provided by the Training Team, experienced guiders who also run their own units.
Check the Diary to find any upcoming trainings.
Evening trainings – These are held in various locations around the county and typically last from 7.00pm – 9.00pm. These may be Section trainings; Rainbows, Brownies, Guides or Senior Section or specific topics may be covered according to what is requested.
County Training Day is the main training event of the year; it usually happens on a Saturday in the spring and offers an opportunity for a full day’s training. Typically the morning sessions will be a devoted to working at section level; Rainbows, Brownies, Guides or Senior Section and the afternoons will offer activities across the age ranges and will follow a specific theme.
A Residential Training Weekend is held every other year usually at a Guiding training centre elsewhere in the country. Transport is provided and Guiders have the opportunity for a full weekend of learning, swapping ideas, networking and having fun.
The Training Team is happy to come to a division to provide a training – all that they ask is that there will be a minimum of 10 Guiders attending. This can be arranged through your Division Commissioner.
