National Games of Remembrance football match
Free tickets available for Girlguiding Nottinghamshire units
Thursday 8 November – 7pm kick off – Notts County FC and Nottingham Forest FC
The National Games of Remembrance is a project for anyone interested in football to find out about and remember football’s important role in World War 1. The pinnacle of the Games of Remembrance in 2018 are two football matches and spectaculars between the male and female British Army and the German Armed Forces to be held at Notts County FC and Nottingham Forest FC.
One of the games on Thursday 8 November 2018 is scheduled for a 7pm kick off and there are free tickets on offer for Girlguiding Nottinghamshire Units. The match will have a youth friendly Fan Zone which will focus on history, fun, information, music and football. The match experience will include loads of activities, displays, military music and will create a very special commemoration occasion in full partnership with the German Armed Forces.
The organsation is looking to provide as many free tickets to organised community group trips in the region, as possible, including Girlguiding Nottinghamshire. It may also be possible for them to fund coach/bus travel for some groups.
If you are interested in conducting a group trip to the Games of Remembrance, you’ll find contact details of the organiser in this downloadable letter, along with further information about the event.
There’s also a poster, should you wish to spread the word to other units in your area.
