Nottinghamshire’s County Commissioner, Jackie Brocklehurst has written her first blog of 2019 She reflects on the highlights of the last twelve months – celebrating our achievements as a County and the exciting opportunities that await us in the coming year.
We hope you all had a super Christmas break and Happy New Year to you all.
I find that as we come to the end of a year its good to reflect on what we have achieved together and I can assure you it was an amazing year. Girlguiding Nottinghamshire, once again you excelled yourself.
Our properties are going from strength to strength, we have a new shelter at Elton, our shop sorted us out with new programme resources, we raised lots of money for Macmillan, we made lots of memories and had exciting adventure both at home and aboard.
We launched our County Hoodies, welcomed the Chief Guide to Megamoot and gave out awards to girls and adult members. I am incredibly proud to be your County Commissioner. So, what next, you may ask, will 2019 be bringing us.
This year we have plenty to keep us busy as we continue to introduce the new programme, we have our WOW day for Guides 12+, Rangers and Young Leaders to introduce the new Ranger section and we have a Rainbow Runaround Day and Pop-up Panto for Brownies.
In September, by popular demand, we have our Ginormous Choir and to end the year we have the Brownie Blast at PGL, plus our County Training weekend at Waddow in November. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at our events and trainings.
More details for all the events will be in the Informer and on our website. Thank you to each and every one of you for everything you do for Girlguiding in Nottinghamshire to give our girls such amazing opportunities.
