Welcome to the Girlguiding Nottinghamshire Volunteering Opportunities page. Listed below you will find details of some exciting new volunteering opportunities available within the county for 2019.

To apply for any of these opportunities you do not necessarily need to be a current member of Girlguiding Nottinghamshire however, you will be expected to become a member and undertake the usual recruitment checks.

Deputy County Treasurer

Following the retirement of our current volunteer we are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic deputy treasurer to support our current county treasurer. Girlguiding Nottinghamshire is run as an independent charity which  has a number of paid staff who support the office functions and properties and just under 2,000 volunteers. If you have experience with the management of finances within a large charity we would love to hear from you. Deputy County Volunteer Treasurer Role Description


 

Property Chair – Guide HQ Carlton

Following the end of term of the current chair we are now looking for a new and dynamic person to chair our property committee who look after our main offices in Carlton. If you have good organisational and communication skills we would love to speak with you. A working knowledge of chairing meetings and looking after properties would be desirable but not essential as support will be given. Volunteer Shop Manager

Girlguiding Nottinghamshire has a long history of providing a Girlguiding Shop for both our volunteers and the public. Open twice a week and run by dedicated volunteers. All proceeds made from the shop supports our charity.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic person to manage our shop. If you have experience in retail, we would love to hear from you however, this is not essential. County Training Co-ordinator

Training is delivered both on a small scale in local areas and at larger county events and residential. If you have good organisational and communication skills, we would love to speak with you. A working knowledge of organising trainings and supporting trainers would be desirable but not essential as support will be given. Could you inspire and motivate fellow volunteers to learn the skills and acquire the knowledge to deliver good guiding, in a fun and creative way? Volunteering as a Trainer for Girlguiding could be for you! And with the launch of the new programme on 21 July 2018, we’re looking for more trainers in Nottinghamshire to join the county team.

Girlguiding Trainer Volunteer Role Description 


Section Advisers – (4 roles available)

Girlguiding Nottinghamshire is delighted to offer four new roles of Section Advisers. These roles have been developed directly from requests from our volunteers. The roles will be instrumental in supporting the county implement the new programme and will be actively engaged with activities being organised for the section e.g. Brownie Blast 2019. Each adviser will be responsible for one of the four sections: Rainbow, Brownies, Guides and Rangers.
