Within Girlguiding UK there are various awards that are given in certain circumstances, details of which are available from Awards Committee.
However, in Nottinghamshire, we have our own awards too.
County Awards Scheme Nottinghamshire
Thanks Badge – this is given at the discretion of the County Commissioner for ‘going the extra mile’ for guiding.
Courage Award – for showing loyalty, commitment etc. in spite of illness disability and/ or adversity. This can be awarded to those aged 5+ years.
Bravery Award – for one off acts of bravery. This can be awarded to those aged 5+ years.
Special Service Award
- Awarded to Leaders aged 16+ to show appreciation for their commitment and loyalty to their unit, district and division.
- Awarded to Leaders aged 16+ to show appreciation for the work they do in their unit overcoming difficulties and running a full and varied programme.
The Special Service Award is open to any unit helper or non-uniformed member of Girlguiding , male or female, as a sign of appreciation for the advice, support and help they give to units district etc. to enable Girlguiding to work in Nottinghamshire. (This includes those who have retired from ‘active service’ and uniformed guiding , but who continue to serve in another capacity.)
